Personally it would make sense for the tigers and cheetahs to have stripes for flies since they don't really have natural predators thus making the stripes null in that case.

Posted by Jacob GeierAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9008122866340502585.post-31599472920479616892014-04-06T15:54:33.504-07:002014-04-06T15:54:33.504-07:00This experiment is a first of its kind so I don...This experiment is a first of its kind so I don't believe there have been other tests done on tigers, cats and skunks, but maybe one day there will be now that we have the knowledge.

Posted by Jacob GeierAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9008122866340502585.post-3221093268905489652014-04-03T19:39:05.833-07:002014-04-03T19:39:05.833-07:00Interesting article! But this makes sense and is a very cool aspect of the evolution of animals and how such a little organism can have that big of an impact on the appearance of an animal. I wonder if this is the reason why some animals that live in the regions of the zebra have stripes and spots like tigers or cheetahs?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06792810675785294691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9008122866340502585.post-50337746657204704942014-04-02T16:50:48.015-07:002014-04-02T16:50:48.015-07:00This was a very interesting article. I always thought that the stripes on zebra's were used for camo but to prevent flies. Have they tested this on other species with stripes like tigers, cats, or skunks?

-Amber Vien Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
